Colour Your World | #15 Pantone Sandstone

Since I began this series, although I’ve created home and womens’ fashion collections — based on the Pantone shades — I haven’t focussed on kids’ fashion at all.

I guess, when you think of fashion for little ones, brights spring to mind or — at the very least — the stereotypical ‘pink for a girl, blue for a boy’.

A colour that I certainly wouldn’t immediately associate with childrenswear is the next colour in the series; Pantone Sandstone.

Even though sandy, rusty shades are a fairly standard fixture in an adults’ wardrobe — I’m thinking shoes and belts — this particular shade is not something that you’d immediately pick as a colour for the littlest members of our family.

But never one to shy away from a challenge, I’ve put together a little board of kids wear based on Pantone Sandstone.

Colour Your World in Pantone Sandstone

1. Pug Tee — Tesco
2. Pom Pom Scarf, Jigsaw Junior — John Lewis
3. Twist Cable Pom Pom Hat — Next
4. Boys’ Leather Belt — H&M
5. Cotton Trousers — H&M
6. Apricot TuTu — Bob & Blossom
7. Leather Plimsolls — Zara
8. Knitted Jacket with Hood — Zara

Although I’ve cheated slightly and gone for peachier tones in some instances, it just goes to show that — for cool boys and girls — Sandstone could work really well!

I’ve started to put a Pinterest board together — womens’ fashion and accessories, rather than kids’ — but in all honesty finding pins in this shade was really tricky! I think this is going to be something I’ll add to over time as it’s looking pretty sparse at the moment!

I’ll be totally getting back in my comfort zone with the next shade in the series though. It’s one of my very favourite colours — Titanium — the question is should I concentrate on fashion or homes?titanium

Oh I love this colour and that bobble hat is so so cute perfect for long autumn walks in crunchy leaves x

I love it too — it’s quite a grown up colour for children but very cool, I think. Certainly makes a change from blue and pink, that’s for sure! ;)

It’s not really a colour I’d have considered before, but I’m totally in love with that tutu. I think even my daughter, who is usually only obsessed with pink things, would love it too!

It’s an odd colour for kids isn’t it? Quite autumnal — which is lovely for this time of year :) Although… aren’t you in Australia now?! It will be coming up for spring there!! ;) (or am I getting mixed up with someone else?) xx

No, you’re right, I’m in Australia now. We don’t really have an autumn here – it goes from really, really hot through summer, to cold in the mornings and hot during the day in winter. I still haven’t quite got my head around it. It’s spring now and this week it’s hit 29 degrees some days.

WOW. That’s right up my street Karen!! To not have the cold, greyness of a UK winter would be awesome!! :)

That was my absolute FAVOURITE pick!! It’s supposed to be for girls but I can just see my boys wearing it — just gorgeous! :)

Aah they DO don’t they! I absolutely LOVE H&M — for me AND the boys. AND my home!! Win, win, win all round when you shop there ;) xx
