The perfect spring jacket | Featuring Joules

What do you need from the perfect spring jacket?

Something waterproof, stylish and lightweight with a hood — particularly if you live in the UK — to keep your barnet dry during the frequent April showers ;)

There are a few things — fashion-wise — that I absolutely love.

Stripes, florals and the colour yellow.

Not necessarily in that order plus it’s really, really rare to have all of them together in one garment.

So imagine my excitement when — on a mission to track down the perfect spring jacket the other week — I came across this little beauty from Joules.

In Celebration of the perfect spring jacket

I *may* have squealed (just a little bit) when I clapped eyes on it and — even though they had a cornucopia of other gorgeous raincoats — I didn’t need to look any further.

The Coastprint waterproof hooded jacket has a lovely boxy shape — in a shorter, hip-skimming style — with front pockets and taped seams to ensure I’ll stay cosy and dry.  Plus a toggled hood for when the wind picks up.

Favourite features are the sleeves that can be rolled back, to show a cheeky glimpse of the sunny, yellow lining plus the monochrome floral pattern in the hood.

All in all, my perfect spring jacket.

But if this black and white striped number isn’t your bag, Joules have so many other lovely raincoats to choose from.

Here’s a little selection…

the perfect spring jacket

1. Coast Waterproof Hooded Jacket — Antique Gold
2. Raindance Waterproof Mac — Black Spot
3. Coastprint Waterproof Hooded Jacket — Cool Grey Floral
4. Raindance Waterproof Mac — Navy Shell
5. Coast Waterproof Hooded Jacket — Haze Blue
6. Raina Waterproof Parka — Black Floral
7. Coast Waterproof Hooded Jacket — Fluoro Orange
8. Raina Waterproof Parka — Grape Leaf Floral

And if that’s not enough to tempt you, all of the jackets in Joules’ ‘Right As Rain’ range are 100% waterproof which is a huge bonus when the forecast is for wall-to-wall rain.

Plus, as well as a fab selection of raincoats, they also have a pretty lovely selection of wellies — florals, stars and stripes — to ensure that your feet don’t feel left out.

wellies

So Britain may have a reputation for having more than it’s fair share of wet weather but we can buck the trend and embrace the showers; safe in the knowledge that these lovely raincoats (and gum-boots) will bring a little bit of much needed colour on those grey days.

Bring on the rain!

The jacket is gorgeous. I love that nautical look. The selection is so pretty too. I wouldn’t know which to pick as a favourite to be honest, they are all so cute

    • 23rd March 2016 / 2:56 pm

      They’re all lovely — I agree!! Although I do love a stripe!! :)

  11. 11th March 2016 / 8:56 pm

I definitely need a good raincoat living in Wales! These all look gorgeous – I need a dark colour though, I am no good with white or light colours! The wellies look awesome too. Kaz x

    • 23rd March 2016 / 2:56 pm

They’ve got some lovely stuff Kaz — perfect for rainy Welsh days! :)

  12. 12th March 2016 / 3:40 am

I love almost all of these choices! especially the one you are wearing, although number two would probably be the least practical as I always end up getting quite dirty playing with the boys!

    • 23rd March 2016 / 2:55 pm

I’m the same Charlotte!! These days everything I own seems to be covered in mud or sticky finger marks! #MotherOfBoys ;)

  13. 12th March 2016 / 7:24 am

Now, I may be nothing other than an uneducated bloke but I can see that that is a cool raincoat. The yellow collars / floral lining looks class.

    • 23rd March 2016 / 2:53 pm

Aah bless you Grant! For an uneducated bloke, that is a pretty astute observation!! ;)

Love this, I rarely find jackets I like for myself so tend not to wear one usually. Love the stripe one xx

  15. 12th March 2016 / 4:07 pm

My Joules wish list is a mile long and I love the breton striped jacket

  16. 13th March 2016 / 8:23 am

I love your stripy one and I’m really into yellow too! I haven’t got a coat that I can do up over my bump and with only a month left to go it seems pointless to buy a huge one now xx

    • 16th March 2016 / 6:55 pm

Aaah bless you!! Yes — I remember what it was like when I was pregnant with the boys!! I had a GIANT fur coat that I wore :) Although it didn’t quite do up over my bump in the very last weeks!!

  17. 13th March 2016 / 7:23 pm

I actually dont think I have ever owned a raincoat and I love the ones that you have picked out, especially 6 and 8 x

    • 16th March 2016 / 6:54 pm

Ooh I love a raincoat! :) There’s nothing worse that getting soaked through!! I love being all toasty and dry when it’s raining :)

  18. 14th March 2016 / 7:40 am

Extra points for the sunny pop of colour. I love this spring jacket with its nautical stripes .

    • 16th March 2016 / 6:44 pm

It’s lovely isn’t it! And I agree — that pop of yellow absolutely makes it :)
