What do you need from the perfect spring jacket?
Something waterproof, stylish and lightweight with a hood — particularly if you live in the UK — to keep your barnet dry during the frequent April showers ;)
There are a few things — fashion-wise — that I absolutely love.
Stripes, florals and the colour yellow.
Not necessarily in that order plus it’s really, really rare to have all of them together in one garment.
So imagine my excitement when — on a mission to track down the perfect spring jacket the other week — I came across this little beauty from Joules.
In Celebration of the perfect spring jacket
I *may* have squealed (just a little bit) when I clapped eyes on it and — even though they had a cornucopia of other gorgeous raincoats — I didn’t need to look any further.
The Coastprint waterproof hooded jacket has a lovely boxy shape — in a shorter, hip-skimming style — with front pockets and taped seams to ensure I’ll stay cosy and dry. Plus a toggled hood for when the wind picks up.
Favourite features are the sleeves that can be rolled back, to show a cheeky glimpse of the sunny, yellow lining plus the monochrome floral pattern in the hood.
All in all, my perfect spring jacket.
But if this black and white striped number isn’t your bag, Joules have so many other lovely raincoats to choose from.
Here’s a little selection…
1. Coast Waterproof Hooded Jacket — Antique Gold
2. Raindance Waterproof Mac — Black Spot
3. Coastprint Waterproof Hooded Jacket — Cool Grey Floral
4. Raindance Waterproof Mac — Navy Shell
5. Coast Waterproof Hooded Jacket — Haze Blue
6. Raina Waterproof Parka — Black Floral
7. Coast Waterproof Hooded Jacket — Fluoro Orange
8. Raina Waterproof Parka — Grape Leaf Floral
And if that’s not enough to tempt you, all of the jackets in Joules’ ‘Right As Rain’ range are 100% waterproof which is a huge bonus when the forecast is for wall-to-wall rain.
Plus, as well as a fab selection of raincoats, they also have a pretty lovely selection of wellies — florals, stars and stripes — to ensure that your feet don’t feel left out.
So Britain may have a reputation for having more than it’s fair share of wet weather but we can buck the trend and embrace the showers; safe in the knowledge that these lovely raincoats (and gum-boots) will bring a little bit of much needed colour on those grey days.
Bring on the rain!
