The Modius Review {Part 3 — Does Modius Work?}

‘This is a paid partnership with Modius’

So, in the third part of my Modius review, I answer the question that I’ve been asked — countless times — since I started testing it. Does Modius work?

Since I began trialling the Modius device back in March, and wrote my initial thoughts, I’ve had lots of people asking how I’m feeling?

Have I lost weight? Is it worth the money?

And the million dollar question…

Does Modius work?

So Does Modius Really Work?

Well, up ’til now, I’ve been quite cagey about my answers.

Making a sweeping statement about anything — before I’ve really had a chance to properly test it out — isn’t something I feel comfortable doing.

But not only that, in this instance, it’s surely subjective?

When it comes to weight-loss, there doesn’t seem to be a blanket method, that works for everyone.

Some people have higher metabolism than others, which makes weight-loss swifter.

Other people have a lot of weight to lose, which I always think makes the initial weight-loss seem much more than someone who has just a few pounds to shift.

These disparities were clear in our Modius review group too; some people managed to start off on a really high level, whilst I couldn’t manage more than level 1 or 2 for the first month.

But, even though I suffer terribly with motion sickness, I coped really well with the ‘swaying’ sensation; which you experience when you wear the Modius headset; whilst a few people in the group  never got used to it and remained on a very low level throughout the three month trial.

Ultimately, I don’t think it would be right to say, categorically, that Modius works. Or doesn’t.

All I can do is give you my results and talk about my own experiences.

My Modius Results After Three Months

So straight in there with what you want to hear; does Modius work?

Well — truthfully — I haven’t seen a significant weight-loss.

At one point, I thought I’d lost 4lb in a week.

I was convinced that Modius had started to work it’s magic. But I’d weighed myself on the scales at my friend’s house. Big mistake. As when I got home, my scales were showing I was +4lb.

Oh.

But as well as weight, I also measured myself each month — which we were advised to do — but haven’t shown any change in measurements either.

Am I disappointed?

Yes.

Will I carry on using Modius?

Yes.

Yes, I think so. Because, despite having not any lost weight (yet); my snacking has definitely been curbed since I’ve been using the Modius headset. Unquestionably.

I put this down to drinking more water though (as one of the Modius side effects is increased thirst); so I’m naturally not as hungry during the day.

Plus — at night after supper — when I’d generally want something sweet, I’ve been using the headset; which made me not want to eat.

So surely, surely, if I carry on, not snacking and drinking loads of water, I’ll start to see a difference in my weight eventually?

Here’s hoping.

Is Modius a Magic Cure For Weight-loss?

I’ve struggled with maintaining a steady weight since my late teens. I’ve yo-yoed back and forth and — now I’m in my mid 40s — I’m finding it harder and harder to lose weight; (even though gaining can be done without any effort at all).

I think I was secretly hoping that Modius was going to be the answer to all my prayers; a magic weight-loss cure, that would miraculously help me to offload the 28lb that I so desperately want to lose.

But ultimately, I think the only sure-fire way to lose weight — and shed those inches — is to eat less and move more.

Would I Recommend The Modius Slim?

So would I recommend Modius? Well, the cost is pretty high. The headset and charger (plus 150 pads and 100 alcohol wipes, which is enough for 75 Modius sessions) will set you back £369.00. It’s not cheap.

But, on a positive note, you too can trial Modius for 90 days, risk free. And if it doesn’t work for you, you can get your money back!

I think this is a no-brainer.

It’s definitely worth the initial outlay, in case you’re in the 80% of people that Modius works for.

And even though I seem to be in the 20% minority, the thing that I keep coming back to is the fact that, when we went on holiday in April, I put a single lb on (over the two and a half weeks that we were in the US).

Modius Slim For The Win (Albeit a Small One)

I wrote about this in my second review post and — even though I’m disappointed not to have seen a significant weight-loss after 90 days— to maintain my weight whilst on holiday in the USA is unheard of for me.

So I’m taking that as a win.

A small one but a win, nonetheless.
