It’s the first of my Pantone posts for 2016 and what better way to start of than with one of their hotly anticipated colours of the year? This year Pantone have bucked the trend and chosen not one but two colours.
The first is Pantone Rose Quartz.
Now I’ve always said that I’m not particularly ‘girly’ and sugary pinks are certainly not high up on my list of favourite colours but I LOVE this shade.
It’s one of the most wearable, flattering tones that you can have next to your skin and it looks amazing in the home as well.
Team it with metallics — old-gold or copper sit beautifully alongside it — or sit it next to a fresh, leafy green shade and you’ll be in colour heaven.
There are so many things available to buy in Rose Quartz, on the high street, at the moment. It seems to have taken the retailers by storm and I spotted so many lovely products, it was difficult to narrow them down.
But I was so taken by this beautiful, bird print bedding from M&S that I figured it might be nice to work a little story around it.

So there we have it.
Pretty pink picks, for a restful and romantic bedroom.
Obviously, a room full of pink accessories may not be to everyone’s taste but paint a wall in this lovely shade and — according to Dita Don Teese, in last week’s Sunday Times magazine —
‘…if you have pink walls you can look amazing naked in every room.’
Now, isn’t that worth painting everything in Pantone Rose Quartz for?
Next time we’ll be looking at:

What great colours, really well picked to blend together. Love your blog! :)
They’re lovely aren’t they? Clever Pantone :)
I love the quotes you have selected and the spring bedding is to die for:) It is so pretty!
It’s so pretty isn’t it?! They have matching chairs too! Just gorgeous!! :)
Gorgeous colour, if really love the bird print, so pretty! X
It’s gorgeous isn’t it? I’m in love with the bird print! :)
Peach!
Reminds me of texas and southern baking, it’s just such a comforting colour. :) Great suggestions for decorating too! xx
Aah thanks so much Amy!
Caro I love the bedding set it is just beautiful, and I would love lots of pink but I mention it and the boys hyperventilate, I ave just bought some bedding with pink in, but now want the Marks’s set I just love pretty pinks and delicate pinks, Caro I love your Panatone Posts x
Aah I LOVE it too!! I’m not a fab of patterned bedding usually but I absolutely LOVE that bird print. They even do a whole range of chairs in it — just gorgeous!!
Love these posts Caro- and so glad you are back doing them! I’m not a pink person but this shade is beautiful x x Looking forward to the next colour….
Aaah thanks chickie. I don’t think Ill ever stop doing them — it’s one of my favourite sources of inspiration. I LOVE seeing how the Pantone forecast filters down to the high street xx
I’m so glad I saw this post! I worked in fashion for around years but now I’m a work at home mum it’s hard to keep up with colour trends, and now I’ve launched my children’s clothing brand it’s good to know the Pantone colours of the year! xx
It’s such a good thing to know if you’re in the retail/design industry. Always amazing to see how the Pantone predictions filter down to the high street — and beyond!:)
Love these picks, that bedlinen is beautiful, I love Roze Quartz, along with Serenity, some other blue tones that is going to be my new bedroom design.
It’s lovely isn’t it? Much more patterned — and feminine — than I’d usually go for but I absolutely love it! :)
I never thought of myself as much of a pink girl either but I’ve grown to like it a lot more! This is a gorgeous shade and I love all the items you’ve chosen. The M&S bedding and the H&M blanket are gorgeous! xx
It’s SUCH a lovely, gentle colour isn’t it? I love the bedding too — I spotted a chair in the same pattern too, the other day!! LOVE it :)
Oooo I’m not a girly girl but that Rose Quartz is pretty dreamy!!
Gorgeous isn’t it? :)
ooh such a pretty colour, my husband would go mad it I painted our room that colour though haha
Haha! He might surprise you ;)
That is such a beautiful shade. I went off pink when both my girls had, at different times, pink bedrooms. However, I think this is a lovely shade and I have been thinking for a while of having it in our bedroom. You have picked out some beautiful pieces and I love that bedding from M&S, so pretty xx
Yep — I keep dithering with painting our bedroom in it. I painted the bath in this shade and LOVE it! :)
This is my favourite colour EVER! I love the shade and I accessorise with Gold. LOVE your style picks- the lamp is gorgeous! xx
So pretty isn’t it? I love it with gold too :)
I was laughing at the quote. I think the lamp is gorgeous!
The quote is hilarious isn’t it?! I love Dita’s conviction in this colour! ;)
i do love this shade and as a mum of three boys it’s nice to inject a little femininity here and there just to make my mark! I do find I sway toward blues and greys round the house but you’ve really got me thinking now. I really like that lamp.
Well this year, the pairing colour for Rose Quartz is a beautiful blue shade called Serenity. If you’ve already gone for blues and greys, the pink would sit beautifully with it!! ;)
Oh I love this colour, and that bedding is beautiful! I have a lump of rose quartz by my bed xxx
I have a little lump of Rose Quartz by my bed too! It’s the symbol of love apparently :)
I absolutely adore this colour. It’s so pretty without being sickly. I need more of it in my home!! That lamp from Debenhams is seriously covetable!
Yep — I love it too. So gentle — without being saccharine. Currently trying to work out what I can paint in it ;)
I’m not girly either, but I do like this shade and the things you’ve picked out are lovely xxx
Aah thanks so much Kerry :) x
such a beautiful delicate colour – i don’t think my husband would let me get away with it though! :p
Haha!! My boy quite likes it, thankfully! :) He has shirts and ties in this shade so I think I’m safe!! :)
What lovely picks. Pink is such a homely colour. Really brightens up a room xx
Aaah I agree Sarah — even if it’s just a little vase of flowers! Pink definitely lifts a room :)
Beautiful! Spring is really in the air. Until now I was a get undressed and get under the duvet quick kinda girl, now I’m thinking I might paint my walls pink and have a little dance
Aaah what a gorgeous thought!! :) Maybe Dita Von Teese is on to something :)
The quote made me howl laughing! I reckon I could put the qualities of Rose Quartz to the test ;-) I love this colour though – The gently pink that we have all been crying out for rather than Disney pink!
Haha!! I love the thought of Dita VT parading round her pink house in the nuddy!! Hilarious!! :) I might like to do the same but I don’t think I’d have quite the same effect!!
I’ve got to say I’m not a girly girl either really but this is a really lovely shade of pink and in a house of boys, I’m trying to put my stamp on our home with selected shades of pink and purple. I think this may be my favourite shade and subtle hints would go great in my lounge with my copper gold accessories and teal coloured sofa. Fabulous quote too!
YES! It would look fabulous with teal!!! What a gorgeous combo! And, I’m with you re being outnumbered!! I’m a lone female in a houseful of 3 boys. Although I do love being queen of my castle :)
I am chuckling at that quote! I’m not a huge fan of pink but I love this shade – in fact I am currently wearing a jumper in this shade. How on trend am I! I adore the vase and the lamp, funnily enough I was just thinking this morning that I need a lamp for my bedroom x
It’s funny isn’t it? I’m not a huge fan either but I LOVE this shade!! My boy wears shirts — and ties — in it too, so it’s obviously a colour that transcends both genders :)
Love the quote, although I’m fairly certain I wouldn’t risk painting all my walls pink to find out if it’s true (I suspect it’s not, unless you are Dita Von Tesse!). Lovely collection of items, I like the lamp the most.
I love the quote too!!! I can imagine her parading round her pink house in her birthday suit!! Haha! Hilarious!! :)
