So whilst Camp Bestival may be over for another year, festival season is still in full swing — hurrah — and the boys and I are now counting the days until Just So Festival, which is on the 18th-20th of this month.
We’ve never been before and I am beyond excited!!
It’s now in it’s 8th year; our friends have been since the first one and always wax lyrical about how much fun they have.
We’ve always wanted to go but it falls the weekend before Shambala, which we’ve been going to for years. And much as we love them, we’ve always been a little bit hesitant to do two festivals back to back.
But we vowed to fill this summer with as many good things as possible, so this year we are going to both!
Just So is a different kind of offering to the festivals we’ve taken the boys to before.
Underpinned by a strong arts and theatre vibe, I’m getting the feeling that it’s going to be more like a huge, interactive art installation; or a crazy theatre production where festival go-ers find themselves as part of the cast.
Full of wonder and magic, Just So offers everything that my childhood dreams were made of.
Midnight feasts, pillow and jelly fights (who doesn’t love a food fight eh?!), theatre, music and storytelling, all set in the beautiful estate of Rode Hall in Cheshire.
There is a woodland theatre, where we’ll be able to sit around the campfire and sing. Or watch a puppet show (or three).
Plus a village green where the boys and I will be able to practice our circus skills.
There’s also an observatory where we’ll be able to do a little stargazing — or make a woven star which will be formed into a tapestry that will be lit at night
But the thing the boys are most looking forward to is The Tribal Tournament.
A fabulous excuse to get dressed up and compete in crazy games, which could win us some coveted golden pebbles. Anyone that knows us, know how much we like to dress up, and I’ve been busily planning our costumes. That’s for another post though — I’ll share them on here when I’m done!
With map names like Spellbound Forest and Away with the Fairies, I can imagine that we’ll end up being totally bewitched by Just So — and this adventure might be the first of many.
Tickets for this year’s Just So Festival 2017 (August 18th to 20th) are on sale now.
Do pop along and check out their website — click here for info on ticket options and pricing. And if you don’t fancy a full weekend of camping, there are still day tickets available for the Sunday. Hurry, hurry, hurry! Only 7 more sleeps!
The Twinkle Diaries are very proud to be official bloggers for Just So this year but all thoughts and words — as ever — are entirely my own.
