Home Etc #39

Spring is coming!

I suddenly realised that it was past 5 a couple of days ago and still light! I mentioned to the Twinkles’ daddy that this time of year fills me with SUCH heady anticipation. Almost the complete polar opposite of when the clocks go back and there’s the grim realisation that we’ve got MONTHS of cold, dark days before we reach the spring.

And then this time of year I’m suddenly filled with an excitable optimism.

Delight in knowing that — in a  few week’s time — the clocks will again go forward and light, long days will be ours once more.

Lovely to see lots of last week’s Home Etc posts with floral styling. Lots and lots of tulips — a sure sign too that spring is nearly here!

Home Etc is a weekly link up for bloggers who have written a post that include interiors — wish lists, room tours or DIY — crafting or up-cycling, garden or allotment.

If you’re a home-bird and have a post that you’d like to share, my co-host Jess and I would be delighted for you to come and link up with us!

Last week we were spoilt for choice — everything from John’s kitchen renovation to Becky’s first vlog (where she showed off her daughter’s bedroom) — but as ever, we are only able to choose two favourites.

The first comes from KA who writes at Life As Our Little Family.

She shared her gorgeous bathroom makeover. I absolutely loved this — particularly as I’ve been looking at similar floor tiles recently.

KA’s fabulous bathroom — LOVE the tiles!

I did a tiny mini-makeover, on our ensuite bathroom, back in December but didn’t replace the flooring in there. I LOVE the patterned tiles that Kerry has used in her bathroom and have my eye on something very similar.

They make such a lovely change to plain flooring and really give the space some personality.

Another favourite post came from Rachel, who blogs at The Ordinary Lovely, who’d created a fab tutorial using bought Papier-Mâché letters.

Weirdly, I’ve been working on something incredibly similar!! I couldn’t believe it when I saw Rachel’s post :) Great minds think alike.

I’m not ready to share it just yet but as soon as I’ve completed it, I’ll be posting it on the blog.

Well done to both of you girls. You’re both in the running to win this month’s HomeSense voucher, which will be announced next week.

Thanks so much everyone, for linking in. Jess and I really, really enjoy reading all your posts!

SO looking forward to seeing this week’s blogs.

All we ask is that you follow these 3 little rules:

1) Please include our lovely #HomeEtc badge at the bottom of your post.

The Twinkle Diaries

2) You may link up to two posts — new or old (sometimes the old posts are forgotten about, so please dust them down and show them off; we’d love to read them!)  — but no more than two posts each week please.

3) Please be kind enough to comment on your HOSTS’ POSTS which will always be the first two entries in the link up — plus a couple of others. Blog hops only work if you’re as generous with your comments as you are at sharing your posts.

Be sure to tweet —@twinklediaries or @soot1978 — with the url to your post, using the hashtag #HomeEtc and Jess or I will always retweet (sometimes both of us if you’re lucky)! ;)

Finally, Jess and I will pick one favourite post each week then at the end of the month we’ll choose an overall winner. This lucky blogger will receive a £20 voucher from our fabulous sponsor!

Psst… as well as HomeSense the voucher can also be spent in TK Maxx!

Thanks so much for linking up all your lovely posts. We look forward to reading more of the same this week! The linky portal is open until 11.58pm on Saturday, so lots of time to join in.

Lots of love,

Caro & Jess x

  1. Morning! Thanks so much for hosting again. I’ll be back later to catch up on all the other posts! (I always look forward to Home Etc Wednesdays, it’s like having a magazine arrive through my door without having to pay for it!) xx
