Home Etc #141

So on Monday I wrote a post in celebration of the clocks going forward — rejoicing the fact that spring *finally* seems to have joined the party.

Then yesterday it was cold, grey and wet.

Which is the weather report for the foreseeable future.

Perhaps I should learn to celebrate quietly and not tempt fate?!

With Easter just a mini-eggs breadth away, I’ve got my eyes firmly set on the holidays and I was hoping for a little more of the sunshine that we saw last weekend.

I can’t wait to ditch my rain-mac and get outdoors properly — tidy the garden up — but I also want to use the Easter break to make a start on some of the DIY jobs that have been stacking up.

One of the things that’s been on the list for a while is painting the staircase in our cottage. It’s natural — aged — pine at the moment and I keep toying with the idea of painting it white… shall I?

Shan’t I?

I change my mind as often as the British weather.

I think I’m erring on the side of painting it, after seeing the lovely job Amelia from Oh Little One Sweet made of their hallway.

Home Etc Favourite

She was our Home Etc favourite from last week.

I absolutely love ‘before and after’ posts and hers was no exception.

It looks like a totally different house.

    1. You’re so welcome lovely!! I love seeing before and after posts — they’re definitely my fave kind of interiors post!! It’s all very well seeing nice home pics but if you can’t see what it was like in the first place, it’s not as impactful!!! I think I’m set on painting our staircase now…. wish me luck!!!!! xx
