The nights are starting to draw in and there’s a nip in the air — which can only mean one thing. Halloween! To celebrate, I’ve created a free printable Halloween banner.

Perfect for turning your home into a spooky Halloween house!

This year’s Halloween will be a little different, as the Covid-carousel is in full swing. The twins and their friends won’t be going trick or treating, sadly, but we can still decorate the house and have a little party at home.

This ‘Trick or Treat’ Halloween banner looks great but is super easy to make.

You can print them out and cut them manually; with scissors or a craft knife. Or if you have a Cricut — or similar crafting machine — you can use the print and cut function and it will do the hard work for you!

How To Make This Free Halloween Banner By Hand.

  1. Download the free printable Halloween banner files.There are PDFs, to print and cut by hand or jpeg files for easy upload to a Cricut machine (if you have one)

2. Print each pair of flags onto A4 copy paper — or card-stock, if you’re feeling fancy!

3. Cut around each pennant with scissors or a craft-knife.

4. Cut the holes with a hole punch.

5. Thread string through the holes and then hang up up!

Or if you’re lucky enough to have a Cricut or other crafting machine, it’s a piece of cake with the print and cut function.

As well as cutting around the simple flag shapes, you can also set your Cricut machine to cut around the spider’s webs too!

How To Make This Free Halloween Banner With The Cricut Maker

  1. Download your files.

2. Start a new project in the Cricut design space and click ‘Upload’ to import your free Halloween banner files.

You can either drag and drop them into the box or browse and select from your computer.

Make sure you select the .jpg files — rather than the PDF files.

3. Choose the ‘Simple’ option. And begin to cut out your backgrounds out with the ‘Select & Erase’ feature.

4. Select your uploaded image/s, click the green Insert Images button to import them into your canvas.

5. Resize the printable Halloween banner flags to the size you’d like them.

I made each of mine 11cm (approx 4.3 inches) wide. I could fit two on an A4 sheet. If you’d like to print two at a time, click the ‘Flatten’ button to group the images together.

6. When you’re happy with your sizing etc, click the green ‘Make It’ button.

7. Click the green ‘continue’ button, then ‘send to printer’.

8. Press the print button and your prints should magically appear on your printer!!

9. Next, lay the printout on your cutting mat, pop back in the Cricut and cut out the sheet.

10. When all of your Halloween banner flags have been cut out and weeded, you can simply thread string, twine or ribbon through the holes, then it’s ready to hang!
