I’ve written about Desenio on the blog before. Their site is my ‘go-to’ for fabulous, inexpensive artwork and if you ever decide you’d like to have a go at creating a gallery wall at home, they’re one of the best places to look, as their website is a one-stop shop for affordable art.

A New Look For Our Old Staircase

Since the CV Lockdown started, Mr D and I have been doing loads of DIY to keep busy and amused.

We’ve painted our snug and turned  it into a playroom for the boys; created a shelving unit in the new sitting room.

And we decided to give our old staircase a makeover too.

For the last few years, the stairwell has been a very dark, charcoal grey. It’s great for hiding knocks and fingerprints but it was starting to feel a bit tired.

There was a gallery wall using loads of different pictures — old and new — in different frames.

But over the years it had begun to feel a little dated and heavy.

We decided to lighten everything up by adding some faux panelling and paler toned paintwork.

Next stop was the artwork.

I fancied a change and had already decided that I wanted matching frames this time round.

As well as a fantastic choice of wall art, Desenio also have a great selection of frames; whether you’re a fan of black, white, wood or metallics, they’ve got it covered.

And best of all, they have them in every size to fit their artwork, so it makes choosing images for a gallery wall really simple.

You can search for artwork by colour, style or even by theme.

If you’re a fan of travel, they’ve got an amazing selection of maps and city-scapes; for nature lovers they’ve got some gorgeous botanical and animal images.

And if you’re still struggling to put together your perfect selection, they have ready-made gallery wall collections to make buying artwork even more simple.

I warn you, the Desenio site is a rabbit-hole! I lost hours scrolling through all the lovely pictures.

But, in the end, I chose a mix of modern and traditional prints, all with black frames to tie them together.

I’m so pleased with the end result. The new panelling and the new artwork have transformed the space.

Many thanks to the lovely team at Desenio for sending me the gorgeous pictures for the purpose of styling this post.

Although this is a paid post with Desenio, all thoughts, words and images — as ever — are entirely my own.
