Weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, Pantone 15-3919 Serenity comforts with a calming effect, bringing a feeling of respite even in turbulent times.
A transcendent blue, Pantone Serenity provides us with a naturally connected sense of space
โ Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director – Pantone Colour Institute
When I read the above description for the next colour in my Pantone line-up, I couldn’t quite believe how true it rang, particularly when thinking of theย events that have occurredย overย the the past few days.
Turbulent times indeed.
Much of the UK at odds with each other; a sense of unease and upset.
I love the idea of ‘respite even in turbulent times’ and where better to recharge our batteries and relax thanย aย bedroom?
So this is whatย I’ve concentrated on, this time round.
I’ve collated a little range of pieces, thatย reflect this lovely calming blue shade,ย to create โ as it’s name would suggest โ a little slice of serenity in the home.
Aย peaceful refuge,ย away from all the friction and wrath.
Colour Your Worldย in Pantone Serenity
1. Cross-stitch Egyptian Percale Bedlinen โย Zara Home
2. Cloudy Blue Vaseย โย Graham & Green
3. Regatta Quiltย โย Heals
5.ย Blueย Lamp by B&B Homeย โย Crowdy House
5. Bovary Chairย โย Loaf
6. Retro Mini Radioย โย My VQ
7. Big Bow Slippersย โย Liberty
8. Winter Sun print by Liz Jamesonย โย King and McGaw
I wish that the world’s problems could be as easily sorted out, as adding a lovely bright cushion or a pretty picture to a room.
That colour reallyย could calm a heated situation and offer relief โ and peaceย โย inย turbulent times.
I yearn for a little bit of serenity at the moment.
And whilst I don’t think we’ll see it in our society for a while, at least, weย can certainly add a little touchย of it in the form of this lovely blue shade, that bears the same name.

I like Serenity but Snorkel Blue steals the show for me. I can’t wait to see what you come up with for that. It’s also one of my eldest’s favourites too … he loves it alongside orange :) A colour-lover, like me x
Snorkel Blue and Orange are a great combo โ the boy’s got taste โ just like his mother!! ;) xx
What a beautiful colour! Never been a huge fan of blue before but I am really warming to it and love it with pink and grey. Lovely picks :) Jess xx

It’s lovely isn’t it? So calming โ just like it’s name :)
I’m not really a blue person but I can see how calming this colour would be. Perhaps we should send some cushions to Downing Street!?? :/ Have a fab holiday lovely xx
Hey! Now there’s an idea!! Maybe they should paint the Downing Street door in Serenity?! Calm everyone down!! ;)
You are right – such a beautiful and calming shade and perfect for the current mood. I really love that chair. I think I have a chair obsession at the moment. I’ll probably end up with 20 in the new loft and no bed!
I love this Pantone shade series. Thank you for hosting.
HA! I’m EXACTLY the same!!!!! I LOVE chairs โ I definitely have an unhealthy chair obsession too!! ;)
Wow I love all these items. Your blog inspires me to have a pretty home even with small children. “I have twins” cannot be my excuse for having a boring living room! You have twins and you have fabulous ideas and beautiful home. Thank you for inspiration and encouragement. Right now our living room is my boys’ toy room LOL but gradually I would like to bring my living room back :)
Aah bless you lovely!! Thanks so much :) No โ having twins definitely doesn’t put me off having a lovely house. The boys are learning โ from a very young age โ to take care of their surroundings and respect our home. No bad thing ;) xx

Ah me to Abi โ it’s so restful isn’t it? I am coveting the Heals quilt for my guestroom! :)
Oh wow, what a beautiful colour. So calming, and certainly needed at the moment! The chair is just gorgeous!
It’s really lovely isn’t it? I think we all need a bit of serenity in our lives! :)
Serenity is definitely my favourite shade, its so calming. I’m pretty sure it would fit perfectly in any room of the house.
I agree โ I think this colour could work pretty much anywhere โ it’s so lovely :)
I do love this colour – the vase and the chair would be my picks I think. Wouldn’t it be lovely if the world’s problems could be sorted out with a little decor change! #HomeEtc
Indeed. It’s been a fraught couple of weeks that’s for sure. Any little ounce of calm and serenity is good at the mo! In any form :)
Oh yes I could see myself feeling tranquil and calm in a bedroom full of those beautiful things. The chair is gorgeous.

It’s lovely isn’t it? I love LOAF :)
Beautiful colour! We should start a petition to have the House of Parliament painted all in Pantone Serenity and see if that makes any difference? ;)
Agree!!! How gorgeous would that be?! :)
Oh I love this shade of blue so much. That Zara bed linen is just gorgeous and the chair is lovely too. Indeed Caro, if only we could soothe the country with a pretty shade of any colour at the moment it would be a blessing. It is our children who I fear for! Anyways, thank you for hosting and have a fabulous holiday xxx
Thanks so much Lisa โ so lovely to have you back sweetie! xx
That print is stunning! It’s definitely my kind of thing. This is such a beautiful colour!

So lovely isn’t it? I was spoilt for choice on the King and McGaw website โ SO many lovely prints to choose from!
I love your Pantone posts. This one did make me feel calm just looking (but then I got flustered because I really wanted to buy the beautiful Zara bedding but had to hold myself back as have got more new bedding coming soon – it’s an addiction!) We do all need a bit of serenity now, so your post is a welcome one – however small adding some calming colour to the world might seem, it all adds up :) ๐
Aaah thanks lovely! I think it’s something that I’ll always do, to be honest. It’s not like I’d ever run out of colours either!! ;)
