Colour Your World | #18 Pantone Peach Echo

Peach.

It’s not a shade that I’m immediately drawn to — either in fashion or interiors — if I’m honest. For me, the colour ‘peach’ is straight out of the 1980s. It conjures up satin bridesmaids dresses with puffed sleeves, dubiously coloured bathroom suites and fussy, festoon blinds.

It certainly doesn’t bring to mind the punchy coral shade in Pantone’s colour report for 2016.

Going by the name of Peach Echo and it is, literally, just an echo of the shade that I associate with it’s insipid namesake.

Peach Echo is a warm orange — much closer to coral than peach — and is the kind of colour that makes me yearn for warm days, balmy nights, barbecues and picnics.

Hot and vibrant, it’s the colour of summer.

In fact, this lovely hue has had me all excited about our impending summer holiday with Mark Warner and, in preparation, I’ve been on a little mission to seek out some suitable holiday accessories, to wear when we’re away. Perfect for poolside dining or exploring sun-drenched towns and markets, here’s my  pick of the loveliest bits and pieces in Pantone Peach Echo.

Colour Your World in Pantone Peach Echo

2. Boho Jersey Dress — Boden
3. Leather Obi Belt — Mango
5. Jute Cotton Blend Bag — Mango
5. Noodle Mid Heel Sandal — Topshop

Amazing how a colour can transport you to a different place or time isn’t it? I’m practically there already.

All I need now is sunshine and azure seas, a nice glass of Prosecco and a lazy afternoon to enjoy a long lunch and do a spot of people watching.

I’ve started a little Pinterest board, to celebrate all things ‘Peach Echo’ — pop over and have a look if you want a little taste of summer!

I think the peach sunglasses are something I could definitely pull off! But it is one of those colours that only works with certain skin tones etc. x

I’m a big fan of orange, doesn’t matter what shade of orange. Love your picks. The cat eye sun glasses look fab. Right up my street!

I think a peach nail varnish is a lovely colour for Spring.

I quite like thr colour peach, but only certain shades of it. I find it very Spring like. x

I would classify peach echo nearly as a coral. Lovely colour indeed and very fresh.

I absolutely agree Janine!! Definitely more coral than peach!! It’s lovely isn’t it? Especially for spring/summer :)

How odd?! I turn my nose up at the though of peach but coral totally floats my boat. I have my toenails painted that colour every summer and it absolutely goes with everything (and now I’m off to check out that Boden dress) x

It’s SO odd. Pantone have very strange names for things. One of the colours from last year’s palette was called ‘Aquamarine’. It was almost like Wedgewood blue though; a lovely smokey, dusty blue colour. Not at all what I’d class as Aquamarine.

Same with ‘Peach Echo’ — this is SO far removed from peach. I’ve never really been keen on that at all but I LOVE this coral shade :)
