A little home makeover for Christmas? | Wallpaper Direct Giveaway!

The Christmas countdown has well and truly started.

The John Lewis advert has aired already (provoking tears from some and derisive comments from others). The TV and shops are full of festive food and Christmassy gifts. Regent Street has it’s lights up, once more, and countless people up and down the country are in growing state of panic as they make plans for the most wonderful time of the year.

What plans do you have? Have you got an army of guests coming to stay or are you having a quieter, more intimate, gathering ?

We tend to offer an open house policy over the Christmas period. My boy is usually off for a full two weeks (bliss) and our friends are always welcome to pop over for a cuppa (or something stronger) and a mince pie. This year we’re having Christmas day at home, just the four of us, then we have family to stay on Boxing Day and beyond.

Preparing for Christmas is lovely but fraught in equal measures. Particularly when you have guests coming.

The thought of Auntie Mabel staying in the baby’s old room — still decorated in Winnie The Pooh wallpaper — can put the most ‘together’ woman on a bit of a downer.

Christmas is such an expensive time of year, as it is, without the pressure of sprucing up our homes and worrying that the rug in the front room still has last year’s mulled wine stains on it or the cushions are past their sell by date.

But fear not! Fancy a little home makeover for Christmas? Then read on…

The lovely folk at Wallpaper Direct have come to the rescue and are offering one of my lucky readers £100 to spend on their website.

Despite what their name suggests, they don’t just sell wallpaper either — oh no — their website is full to bursting with all sorts of lovely things, to treat your home.

Blinds, curtains, bedding plus a fantabulous selection of fabric — in case you fancied getting your craft on and wanted to make your own — everything from Sanderson and Scion, Emma Bridgewater and Clarke and Clarke.

They’ve also got wall art — canvases, frames — rugs, lamps and all sorts of other bits and pieces that can really add the finishing touch to your home.

Whether you’d like to wallpaper your spare room, in time for the arrival of your Christmas guests, give your living room curtains a little bit of an update or treat your sofa to come lovely new cushions, Wallpaper Direct have got a lovely range of products — and designs — to choose from.

This is such a lovely giveaway. Perfect timing to get your home ship-shape for Christmas too, without stressing about the cost.

  1. I guess everyone’s first thought was Twinkle, so I’d like to name her Mabel because one of my son’s first little nursery friends was called Mabel and she told me many, many times that only reindeer ladies have antlers. She was very proud of that piece of information.

  2. Wow love, love, love your living room. I love the contrasts of colour, really works well and looks.very relaxing too X #twinklyTuesday

  3. Oh their things are divine, I am loving looking for decorating ideas at the moment as my new home awaits me in 4 months (can’t wait)! #twinklyTuesday

  4. Oh wow, I was thinking I love the grey bedding in the first picture, then, the grey wall paper in the third, then … it spiralled to everything! It’s just all gorgeous! Thank you for sharing #twinklytuesday

  5. This is such a good competition idea! I always feel like I’d like to redecorate for Christmas to have everything looking lovely (I never do, as I realise quickly I already don’t have enough time to do everything I want to in preparation for Christmas!) #twinklytuesday

  7. Hi Caro. Thanks for all your Twinkling Tuesdays, sad to see you go but totally get it! (#coolmumclub has taken over my Thursdays).

I’d call the stag Lucky. Ok, he may be unlucky to have been decapitated, but he’s been preserved for all eternity in sparkly rhinestones, not a bad destiny ;-)

My eye would definitely be on those hedgehog cushions! I used to collect hedgehog nick nacks when I was a little girl.. x MMT

    1. Aaah thanks darling — that’s lovely of you! It’s SO time consuming. I have #HomeEtc on a Wednesday too but that’s much more manageable — a sweet little community of about 20. It would be nice to get more linkers but as it’s so niche, I doubt it will ever be a huge linky!! And that suits me very well! Love the thinking behind your name for the stag btw!! :)

  8. I think I’ll call him TWINKLY!
Great post and lovely items to choose from especially sprucing up our respective homes for Christmas. Thanks for hosting! #TwinklyTuesday

  9. Oh I love the sparkly reindeer that would certainly inject some glamour. The hedgehog cushions are fab and I love the pattern on the cushion underneath too. #twinklytuesday

  10. What an exciting giveaway! It’s lovely to have your house spruced up for Christmas. I always do a big clean at the end of November too :) Thanks so much for hosting Twinkly Tuesday, it will be sad to loose you as hostess but I totally understand. Linkys take so much time, I had to stop one of mine a couple weeks ago. It was a tough decision but there just isn’t’ enough hours in the day x

  11. Wow, their stuff is gorgeous! We’re decorating both ours and my son’s bedroom next year so will def be checking them out. #twinklytuesdays

PS that deer definitely looks like a Derek to me!
