65 weeks and 1 day | A little reminder on how to live

I’ve been a little quiet of late; I’ve been so busy, there never seems enough hours in the day to type my thoughts.

But I have just seen this poem and thought it was so beautiful — and so relevant — I needed to share it. And take a moment to reflect on my extraordinary life.

Make the Ordinary Come Alive

Do not ask your children

to strive for extraordinary lives.

Such striving may seem admirable,

but it is a way of foolishness.

Help them instead to find the wonder

and the marvel of an ordinary life.

Show them the joy of tasting

tomatoes, apples, and pears.

Show them how to cry

when pets and people die.

Show them the infinite pleasure

in the touch of a hand.

And make the ordinary come alive for them.

The extraordinary will take care of itself.

It is, isn’t it? I think the words are lovely… and very apt for anyone that has children X
