It’s only as I started typing this post that I suddenly had the stark realisation that it’s December tomorrow.
We are just one month away from a brand new year.
To say that life is ‘passing me’ by is not quite right; I’m really mindful of each and every day and am fully aware of how lucky my little family and I are.
But, try as I might, no matter how mindful — or grateful — I am, since we had the boys, time seems to be whizzing by at double speed.
It’s ridiculous to think that the twins have been at nursery for a full year already. Their first day was on 25th November 2014; two shy little toddlers, a little bit awestruck by the older children.
They’d been put in ‘The Two’s Room — almost four months before they would actually turn two — so they were significantly younger than some of the other children in their group. But as the year’s gone on, they’ve settled in so well.
They’ve sung, played, crafted, created. And it’s been a joy to see their little personalities emerge.
And as the months have rolled by, they’ve been joined by smaller children, so now are not the youngest in their room anymore.
Crazy to think that in March they’ll move up to the pre-school room. Even the name of it — pre-school — fills me with a cold shiver of dread.
The pre-cursor to another life. Life without my babies.
Alright, I know I’m perhaps being a little melodramatic and it will be absolutely fine but, I waited SO long for these little chaps to join the party, it seems dreadfully unfair that my life with them, as it currently stands, is so very nearly over. The baby years are already gone, so the thought of these squishy, chunky toddlers making their exit too — soon to be replaced by proper little boys — is a bit much to take on board.
Anyway. I don’t want to think that far ahead (the rate we’re going it will be here before we know it)!! Swiftly back to November.
We’ve had a fun and interesting month, that’s for sure! We’ve been lucky enough to experience one of the most exciting opportunities that my blog has brought, to date.
We’ve been reviewing electric cars for a government backed campaign. So much fun and a brilliant experience. More about that in the coming weeks.
I went to Blogfest and met up with my blogging buddies.
We also had a fantastic day out in London and went to Borough Market — which I love — followed by a trip up the Shard which was spectacular!! Go if you ever get the chance — it was amazing.
The Shard is where these pics were taken. Right at the top of the highest building in London! It was SO cold up there and they had a little igloo, where you could sit and admire the view. This is where we’re sitting in these snaps.
I think these are some of my fave Me and Mine photos, since we began this project.
I LOVE the ones of just my boy and me — and particularly love the one of Cosmo-Bear getting in on the action and photobombing us. They’re pretty grainy, as the light was fading, and there’s a lot of movement too — which is making them soft — but they’re a lovely reminder of a fantastic day.
So just to recap:
