116 weeks and 1 day | The One and Only Adult Colouring Books

There are some things in life that I still enjoy, now I’m an adult,  just as much as I did when I as a child. An ice-cream with a flake (from an actual ice-cream van), paddling in the sea, kicking a big pile of crunchy autumn leaves and I’ve since found out that ‘colouring in’ is one of those things!

There has been a huge resurgence in colouring books recently — even our village post office has been selling a few. But none I’ve seen are quite as lovely as ‘The One and Only Adult Colouring Books’ that come from Phoenix Yard Books.

These are pretty spectacular, let me tell you; beautifully designed and full of intricate, black and white patterns to colour in.

Initially I very nearly dismissed them, thinking it was a childish thing to be doing, but on receipt of these gorgeous books, I got  totally immersed in their designs and once I started colouring, I had to keep coming back to do a little more! A bit like a jigsaw — you just can’t leave it alone!

If you want to do something gently creative — and very relaxing — this is the hobby for you.  You can totally transport yourself away and while away the hours, crayoning these beautiful patterns.

Keep your knitting  — colouring in is where it’s at these days ;)

  4. My 21 year old daughter has nearly completed the first one she has bought and is really hooked, they would make a lovely gift for her upcoming Birthday x

  5. I’ve wanted one of these colouring books for ages. They look so wonderful and a great therapy. This competition us perfect. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

  6. I love kicking autumn leaves still! I’d love to win these books to get colouring in. I find blogging and working full time is taking it’s toll and I definitely need to find new ways to relax.

    1. Aaah kicking autumn leaves is a WINNER isn’t it?! It’s something I never tire of! :) And yes — I agree — blogging, working, and looking after a family is hard work! It’s lovely to have a way to switch off x

  7. Oh my I almost started hyperventilating when I saw those beautiful coloured pencils, let alone the gorgeous colouring books! I’ve just been reading about how if you struggle to meditate to try colouring books instead as they give the same effect. I need me some of those colouring books!!!! ;)

  8. Where did you get your colouring pencils from? I couldn’t quite read the writing on them , my eyesight is terrible. They look really nice.

  9. What a coincidence! Just a day or two ago one of my friends posted a pic on FB of a coloring book she’s working on. I had no idea there were coloring books for grown ups and started perusing Amazon for them. How fun would it be to win these? I could definitely see these being my end-of-the-day wind down. Thanks for doing the giveaway – hope U.S. residents are eligible. :-)

  10. I would love to win these books
as I would take them into the nursing home where I work as the residents would love them

  11. I have one colouring book but would love some more. I live on an island and you can’t buy these up here so I haven’t been able to see what they are like but they look awesome.

  12. I’m a doodler and used to love colouring-in as a kid, would be nice to see if it’s still as much fun.

  13. They are even making amazing books for children around 11 now and they are simply beautiful #Twinkly Tuesday

  14. I’ve been thinking about getting one of these and I think you’ve just sold me on them ;) Gorgeous pics on this post too! #twinklytuesdays xx

  15. Ohh I loved colouring as a child. Trying to get Leo to do colouring with me but he just wants to eat/snap/throw the crayons. I would love to win these, like everyone is saying colouring seems to be a great way to relax. xx

  16. Ooh, I definitely need to get one of these! I sometimes help the children do their colouring-in and it’s so relaxing – you can totally lose yourself in it. x #TwinklyTuesday

  17. I’ve bought adult colouring in books for friends and family for presents but have never had one myself, they look so relaxing to do! #TwinklyTuesday

  18. I didn’t know about these! That is amazing. I love drawing & other artistic endeavours, but drawing something yourself takes more work & thought. Colouring in is relaxing. I definitely need to start this! Love this post. #TwinklyTuesday

  19. It sounds on first thought children, but on further thought, therapeutic. To just sit and colour … ‘creativity’ is the word that comes to mind. In anycase, you could do it as modelling colouring for children too. You can see I’m warming up to the idea. Thanks for sharing :-) #TwinklyTuesday

    1. Me too Sarah! It’s one of those things that I had totally forgotten about… once you start you can’t leave it alone. I was doing a bit here and a bit there until it was finished :)

  20. I love these! I really need to get myself one (but entered the comp… just in case!)

I’m rubbish at drawing but think I would find it so relaxing.

    Thanks for hosting #twinklytuesday

  21. I love to draw and colour, so relaxing, I have a giant drawing pad which I draw disney characters in, really enjoyable x

  22. I would love to win these to help me relax, calm my mind and make me restful enough to finally get some sleep…it’s been a while!

  23. Oooh! I was reading about how adult colouring books are a massive thing for women in France – these looks great and would be great after being glued to a computer screen for work all day and then all night!

  24. I just recently discovered these too! I bought Millie Marotta’s Animal Kingdom. I haven’t started yet as I am afraid of ruining it. I have never been one for colouring inside the lines haha. xxx

  25. I love to win because I’ve never stopped colouring but kids picture books just don’t provide a challenge.

  26. I would live to win these adult colouring books to unwind. I have just done my final exam for my degree after 7 years of study and would like to do something relaxing on an evening for a change and I love colouring ;) x

  27. I’d love to win for a number of reasons but mostly because I’d love to have some colouring books of my own (ones that mummy can colour in!) don’t get me wrong I love Disney Princesses (for my 3 year old daughter) and cars/trucks (for my 2 year old son) but it’d be nice to have a change!
And also it might help me not go insane when they’re driving me round the twist in the day!!

  28. I’d love to win these books for taking a few minutes time out to relax during a stressful day. Also a nice thing to do outside on a sunny day, away from screens and technology distractions.

  29. My wife got into colouring shortly after Christmas, as a way to relax. We’re having loads of problems with our 12 year old daughter (not sure yet if it’s Aspergers, autism, teenage hormones or if she’s just a ratbag!) and there’s always tension in the house when she’s at home. Colouring has helped my wife to switch off from it for a little while & recharge her mental batteries :) She says I should try it, particularly colouring books featuring animals or travel. Fingers crossed!

  30. I just saw these on the shelf of a shop…I would love to colour away some child free hours (wonder if I’ll get some funny looks in a spa break colouring in these) #twinklytuesday

  31. I honestly think this idea for a giveaway is so lovely! I think I’d love to win these colouring books simply because recently I found out how relaxing colouring is. I’ve been under a lot of stress lately and seeing how my friend was colouring suddenly made me way calmer. I was thinking of colouring as of something that kids would do but who cares what age we are? If we enjoy it, we should do it more often!

  32. I love colouring! I have my own set of coloured pencils, not for child use. My girls, though, aren’t colourers. As M put it, “I like making my own outlines.” Thanks for being such a wonderful #TwinklyTuesday cohost.
