Home Etc #32

Good morning and happy new year to all you lovely Home Etc lot!

Home Etc is a weekly linky for any bloggers who have written posts that include interiors, DIY, garden or allotment, crafting or up-cycling.

If you’re a home-body and have a post that you’d like to share, my co-host Jess and I would be delighted for you to come and link up with us!

Firstly, huge apologies to you all for my late comments on all the blogs that you linked up on the last post. Christmas spirit had well and truly taken over and I totally forgot to go back and comment — I’m so, so sorry! Slapped wrist for me.

Secondly, welcome to a brand new year of Home Etc! What plans do you have for your home — or garden — this year?

Now Christmas is over, I’ve been naturally looking forward to spring and making a mental list of all the things I plan to do with our cottage. We’ve also taken over an allotment so there’ll be lots of garden posts too, as the weather begins to warm up!

Spring cleaning has already started in our little house and we’ve been moving things around and shipping things out, that have outgrown their purpose.

Which brings me on to one of this week’s favourite posts!

Lizzie — from Marmalade Pie — wrote such a lovely post about her DIY hopes for the new year in a little wishlist.

I have done this myself and it’s lovely to hear everyone else’s plans too.

Our second favourite comes from Kerry — Noah And The Girls. Her fab post about metallics in interiors gives a lovely glimpse into the kind of things we should be filling our homes with, this coming year.

Lovely aren’t they? Have got my eye on that beautiful Anglepoise lamp for my new work-room! ;)

Such lovely posts once again. Well done girls — you’re both now in the running to scoop this month’s prize. I can’t wait to see what this year brings — and Jess and I really look forward to seeing what everyone has been up to.

All we ask is that you follow these little rules:

1) Please include our lovely #HomeEtc badge at the bottom of your post.

The Twinkle Diaries

2) You may link up to two posts — new or old (sometimes the old posts are forgotten about, so please dust them down and show them off; we’d love to read them!)  — but no more than two posts each week please.

3) Please be kind enough to comment on a couple of your HOSTS’ POSTS which will always be the first entries in the link up — plus a couple of others. Blog hops only work if you’re as generous with your comments as you are at sharing your posts.

4) By linking up you give us permission to use images from your blog, if featured. You also allow us to add you to our mailing list, to receive the occasional update or reminder.

Be sure to tweet —@twinklediaries or @soot1978 — with the url to your post, using the hashtag #HomeEtc and Jess or I will always retweet (sometimes both of us if you’re lucky)! ;)

Finally, Jess and I will pick one favourite post each week then at the end of the month we’ll choose an overall winner. This lucky blogger will receive a £20 voucher from our fabulous sponsor!

Psst… as well as HomeSense the voucher can also be spent in TK Maxx!

Thanks so much for linking up all your lovely posts. We look forward to reading more of the same this week! The linky portal is open until 11.58pm on Saturday, so lots of time to join in.

Lots of love,

Caro & Jess x

  1. Thanks for hosting ladies! I love the metallics! I am obsessing about them at the moment. I have received some gold cutlery for Christmas (following relentless hinting (and an actual email containing the link!) I’m SO excited, I can’t wait to have our next dinner party so I have an excuse to use it!! Happy new year to all the HomeEtc linkers – hope it’s a great one! xx

  2. Happy new year! I’m so glad to have discovered this linky, it’s a great source of inspiration. I’ve just received a huge delivery of wood for our bedroom makeover so hope to share it soon!

  3. Thanks so much for mentioning my post Caro! Much appreciated. And don’t worry at all about taking a break over Christmas – I’ve been enjoying doing the same thing too! I’m looking forward to linking up again next week xx
